Slacker...aka--me

****photo bomb****

Although I have had plenty of time to update my blog, I obviously haven't! So here it goes.
Dani will be 6 months old in 2 days. I can't believe she is already half a year old but at the same time I feel like she has been here a long time.  She has come a long way with her temperament but is still fussy at times. She has gone from crying almost all day to very little crying. That is, unless we go out in public....then she makes sure to be heard. It really is very frustrating. I know she will outgrow it and I am looking forward to it!

Other than tending to Dani I have been busy sewing and using my embroidery machine that I got for my birthday from my awesome brother!!  I use nap time to do hobbies!  Thanks to Pinterest I have way too many crafts that I want to attempt! I will save those for another post.

first trip to Waco to visit Memaw and Papaw

Over the past 6 months we haven't been many places. Several trips to Aunt Holli's house (Easter and Mother's Day).  A few restaurants (which were horrible--Dani not the restaurant!)  Several checkup appointments.  The pool a few times.

We did however, have a great trip to Waco!  It was just me and the girls. Dani did awesome on the 3 hour drive there.  She also did great at my mom's house.  The ride home was a different story. The trip we had to the museum when we got back from Waco was not too good either!  Dani sleeps great at home but does not sleep in the car or if we are out and about. :(

I have much more to blog about but I will do those in different posts.

Meet Danielle Paige

Our newest addition has finally arrived!

A little back history: Around 31 weeks I had to make an unplanned trip to see my OB. Turns out everything was just fine but at that appointment an ultrasound confirmed that baby Dani was breech. Dr R wasn't too concerned because I still had a couple of months to go and there was still time for her to move into the head down position. At most of my visits Dr R did an ultrasound to check position. And every time she was still breech :( As the end of my pregnancy got closer the more concerned I became. If the baby didn't turn then a c-section would have to be done. This terrified me. I did all kinds of things to try to get her to turn, no such luck. Lots of people told me that having a c-section is not that bad but I didn't believe them. Around 37 weeks we went ahead and scheduled a c-section for February 7th. This put me at 39 weeks and 1 day. Most people hope for labor to begin sooner than later however, I was praying that I did not go into labor. If I went into labor naturally I would have had an emergency c-section and I wanted everything planned...no surprises or any rushing.

On Monday, February 6th, my mom came to spend the night so she could be there when the baby was born. MiMi and PawPaw took Chloe to spend the night with them. They came to the hospital the morning of.

Tuesday, February 7th, I was supposed to check in at 5:30 am. The hospital makes it impossible to get in at such wee hours. Even though the signs stated that the doors were open at a certain time, they were not. Needless to say, I checked in about 15 minutes late. Even though I pre-registered (which is such a joke) I had to answer a million questions. At least this time I was not in labor like I was when I had Chloe. We had to wait for the ultrasound tech to come up to confirm the baby was still breech. If she had turned then I could go home. Nope. Still breech. The nurse then started an IV. In the process she totally blew my vein and she laughed about it. Not cool. She tried again and dug around until she got it. That really hurt! The anesthesiologist came in to introduce himself and tell me what was going to happen. When he left I lost it. This was about to happen. I was about to be cut open very soon. Dr. R came in and assured me that it was normal to feel anxious and that everything was going to be fine. Then they wheeled me in to the OR. What a cold and crazy room! Very bright. People and stuff everywhere!! Anyway, I believe they started at 7:35 and Dani was born at 7:56am. All I felt was some tugging. No pain thank goodness. When Dr R held her up I said ""she looks just like Chloe!". She and Brandon went to the nursery while I was finished up in the OR. I was taken to recovery for an hour and Brandon joined me there. After that I was moved to a room. I stayed in the hospital until Thursday. I was so ready to go home and sleep in my own bed where I would not be disturbed every hour!!

Who Needs Blue Bell?

We finally had our last Christmas get together last night. It was the Teague/White/DenHartog family gift exchange. This was the first weekend that worked for everyone.

We met at B's Aunt Karen and Uncle Roger's house in Pearland. We had dinner, did lots of visiting and catching up and then the kiddos opened all of their gifts. Chloe got a beautiful Princess Barbie and another Barbie with a horse. She also got a new pair of pjs, chocolate!, little pull back cars that she has been playing with for the last hour :) and also a Little Tikes Ice Cream maker.

I have to admit that I was hesitant about the ice cream maker but I went ahead and put it together at Chloe's insistence. I had gone to Walmart earlier and made sure to get whatever we needed to make it, which was only heavy whipping cream.

Chloe talked about how she was going to make Mommy some first, then make some for Daddy and herself....so sweet!

We got it all set up for her and she was determined to do it BY HERSELF. The instructions called for 10 minutes of hand cranking the gyro. I set a timer and she was off! She turned it, and turned it and turned it some more. She did it for the entire 10 minutes!
B opened the ball up and low and behold......ice cream!! And it tastes so yummy. I am so impressed. I see lots of ice cream making sessions in the near future. :)

Just Need Baby!!

3 weeks and 5 days until my due date! Not that I am counting.

I have been home for the past 4 weeks. I have to say it has been very nice! The first week B was on vacation as well. The second week I started to get ready for baby. Thankfully I saved all of the clothes from when Chloe was a baby. I got the box out of the guest room closet and started sorting. WOW---I knew I had a lot but I didn't know really how much. Of all the items I took out maybe 5 or 6 outfits that had stains that didn't wash out.

All of these clothes are newborn to 6 months. I am not sure if there are enough days in 6 months to wear all of these clothes. The closet and all of the drawers are full!

Next---finish the nursery. Since I decided to use the same bedding as I used with Chloe I really did not have much to do. I did buy a cute little hanger thingy and wood letters from Hobby Lobby. I had fun painting those to match the room. I also cut some letters from pretty paper to say "Thank Heaven for Little Girls". I got the idea online. I bought some simple curtains to finish the room.

It is official.....our newest addition will be Danielle Paige. I think we will call her Dani, but I guess we will have to wait and see if the nickname suits her! I really do love Paige. Chloe has finally gotten over naming her Rapunzel and she is so excited to tell EVERYONE what the baby's name will be. Even people at Walmart :/

When I look at these pictures I don't see much difference! Not sure if that's good or bad. I did weigh 2 less pounds at my last visit. I'm not sure how that is even possible!!??

I went today and bought diapers, wipes and baby wash. I guess all I need is a sweet baby girl in my arms!!! I can't wait!
